Husbands Bosworth (Lutterworth, Leicestershire)

An image of Husbands Bosworth (Lutterworth, Leicestershire)

The tanks at Husbands Bosworth are driven in an expansive field full of obstacles, hills and bumps. The site was previously a bombing range during the Second World War - an apt location for tank experiences as you ride ex military vehicles on a genuine World War II site.

Husbands Bosworth is just 30 minutes from Leicester. The nearest train station is Market Harborough; a 15 minute drive away. The site is situated on the A5199. Leave the M1 motorway at Junction 20 and take the A4304 to Husband’s Bosworth. Turn left onto Bell Lane and left again at the next junction. After approximately 1 mile, turn right. Postcode for site LE17 6NW.

Visitor Info

Spectators can make full use of the onsite facilities, including toilets, free parking and the D-Day cafe, and this may be the perfect spot to sit and watch the majestic war machines ride around on the grassy terrain. The cafe is open for the duration of experience days and offers a range of hot and cold meals as well as a variety of hot and cold drinks. The site’s impressive military vehicle collection and museum is also open to visitors and well worth a look. Just remember suitable footwear as the site can be very muddy.

History

Way back when there was an aerodrome on the site. During WWII it was used to practice bombings, giving it a scarred, pitted look. It was converted to farmland following the end of the war, but with such a conveniently rutted location, it’s no wonder this is the only place in the UK you can do paintball battle.
