During the session you can expect to learn some of the basics of kayaking or canoeing and enjoy a river trip.
Sessions are available in either Kayaks or Canadian Canoes. Following registration you will meet your instructor who will fit you with your equipment, including buoyancy aid, boat and paddle (spray decks are available for experienced paddlers). There will then be a full safety briefing and explanation in the use of the equipment before going onto the water. Then it is time to take to the water. You may also play some games to test your new skills.
Group Size: There will be a maximum of eight people in your group, though there may be other groups on the day.
Group sessions last approximately 3 - 4 hours.

You must be reasonably fit and confident in the water. A medical declaration form must be completed before taking part. If under 18 this will need to be signed by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
The minimum age is 16 years old.
It is not necessary to be able to swim as buoyancy aids worn by everyone. You must, however, inform your instructor if you are not a confident swimmer.
This experience is available on selected Monday to Sunday dates, from January to November.
We advise planning 3-4 weeks in advance. However, availability varies through the year depending on demand.
Spectators are welcome.

Public Liability insurance for £10m is included, along with Personal Accident Insurance for up to £50,000. Details are enclosed within the voucher pack.
