A hot drink awaits your arrival at the Loughborough Central refreshment room, where you will meet your friendly host for the day. After being kitted out in company overalls you will be shown a brief training film. During the day you will also get to see the signal box and enjoy a tour of the locomotive works.

The highlight of the experience is the opportunity to mount the footplate of your steam locomotive to begin your journey along the only mainline steam railway in Britain, with an experienced crew on hand to assist and guide.

All packages include lunch where you can choose from a selection of delicious daily specials.

Please wear sturdy shoes, not trainers.

Allow 6 to 7 hours for this experience.

This course runs on selected weekend dates.

Minimum age is 18 years and participants must be physically and mentally fit with good vision and hearing.
There is not a maximum age but participants must be fit enough to climb up to the footplate.
You must not suffer from any driving prohibiting condition.

If weather conditions cause the activity to be cancelled then an alternative date will be offered to you.

A complimentary ticket for one guest's train travel is included. Additional guests are welcome although there will be an additional charge.

Lunch is included.
Each participant will receive a Driving Certificate in a presentation folder.
