Stearman Flying Lesson - 25 Minutes - £199

This is an amazing opportunity to step back in time and take a flight in a vintage Boeing-Stearman bi-plane.

 

What Your Experience Includes
Similar to the Tiger Moth, the Boeing-Stearman bi-plane is of US origins and was built during the 1930's and 1940's. It was used as a military trainer aircraft for the US Airforce and helped to train pilots during World War II. Now it's your turn to see what those pilots had to learn.

This 25 minute flying lesson will start off with a pre-flight safety briefing from your instructor. Here you'll learn what effects the controls have on the aircraft and what to expect during your flying lesson. It's then time to go and have a closer inspection of the Boeing-Stearman with your instructor. Once you're strapped in it's time for take off. Whilst up in the sky your pilot will show you the basic manoeuvres for the bi-plane and if you have good weather he'll also put you and the plane through some aerobatic moves. If this isn't your thing then why not take over the controls and see what it's like to actually fly this vintage machine.

Group Size: It will be just you and your instructor.

Please note that at Cheltenham your flight will last 20 minutes.

Your activity will last approximately 1 hour.

Restrictions
The maximum is weight 17 stone. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant or have high blood pressure or any heart conditions. .
The minimum age for this experience is 16 years old.
There are no qualifications or experience required for this activity.

Availability
This experience is availabe on Friday, Saturday and Sunday dates, throughout the year.

How far ahead should I book ?
We advise planning 3-4 weeks in advance. However, availability varies through the year depending on demand.

Are spectators allowed ?
You are welcome to bring spectators to come and watch.
