Enjoy this fun and challenging experience driving an Abbott or Chieftain tank, an Armoured Personnel Carrier, six-wheeled Stalwart or other awesome miltary vehicles (depending on location) - this is definitely one for the boys!
What Your Experience Includes
Once you have your tin hat on and have settled yourself into the driving seat of a selection of military vehicles you're ready to learn how to drive like a soldier! You'll have the chance to drive several vehicles which may include an Abbott tracked gun, Snowcat, Armoured Personnel Carrier, Stalwart, Ferret Scout Car or a 55-ton Chieftain Battle Tank. (Dependent upon location).
When you arrive you will be split into groups and you may be asked to sign an indemnity form which will require parental/guardian signature for under 18's. Your session will begin with a safety briefing which will then be followed by detailed training from your instructor. You will then be allowed to get behind the wheel of the vehicles yourself whilst under the watchful eye of your instructor.
- Hands on driving under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
- As part of a small group you'll have a safety briefing followed by driving experience in a selection of different military vehicles.
- Please allow approximately 2-3 hours for your experience.
- You'll receive an experience gift pack including smart wallet, message card and personalised voucher.
- Also included are PA cover for £50,000 and cancellation indemnity
Hampshire
- You will drive a 432 Armoured Personnel Carrier, an Abbot tank and a 55 ton Chieftain Main Battle Tank.
- Then, to finish the session, you’ll drive either a quad bike or a standard off-road vehicle depending on the conditions on the day.
- Presentation of certificate.
Bristol
- You will drive four different vehicles during your experience which could include the robust 15 ton Armoured Personnel Carrier, the Ferret Scout Car, a 17 ton Self Propelled Abbot Gun, the Snowcat or the Stalwart.
- You and your crew will take it in turns to handle the controls as you drive through, across and over any mud and water obstacles in your path.
- All the driving takes place on the Mendip Hills so you get an off road track view.
Derbyshire
- You will drive a 17 tonne Abbot Self Propelled Gun, FV432 Armoured Personnel Carrier, Bedford MJ 4X4 Troop Carrier and BV 206 Hagglunds All Terrain Vehicle.
- You and your crew will take it in turns to handle the controls as you drive through, across and over any mud and water obstacles in your path.

Restrictions
- Minimum Age: 14-18, depending on location (under 18’s need parental/guardian consent).
- Minimum Height: 4'8"- 5’ (142 - 152cms)
- Maximum Height: 6'4”(193cms)
- Maximum Weight: 18 stone (114kg)
- Fitness/medical conditions: You will need to be in reasonable health and agile enough to climb into the vehicles which are high and difficult to enter.
- Qualification/Experience: You must hold a full, valid UK or European driving licence.
- Seasonal winter closures may apply
- Dress Code: The sites can be very wet, muddy and dusty so sturdy, flat weatherproof shoes and comfortable casual clothing which are suitable for the time of the year and weather conditions.
