Learn from experts how to drive an Armoured Personnel Carrier, a Chieftain tank, an Abbot Self-propelled Field Gun and a Quad Bike in one day of military vehicle driving!
What does the activity include ?
You’ll spend around three and a half hours learning how to drive a variety of military vehicles, including an Armoured Personnel Carrier and Chieftain tank, plus go off-road on a Quad Bike! Driving tuition is under the watchful eye of friendly and experienced instructors, some of whom have served in action and so can tell you exactly what it’s like to drive under battlefield conditions. The ratio of participants to army vehicles is set to ensure all the drivers are kept busy throughout the experience.
Participants will receive a full safety briefing and complimentary refreshments throughout the course. The vehicles you will drive are the Abbot SPG (self-propelled field gun), the Chieftain, MBT 55 tons 700hp, the APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) and Quad Bikes. You will also be presented with a Certificate of Achievement. This course operates on some Friday dates and Saturdays. The site offers picnic benches in an undercover area and a wood fire that is lit in cold or wet weather, which is where refreshments are available and the safety briefing takes place. Toilets facilities are available on site.
