With this ticket you are free to rove across Derbyshire’s lush countryside in the glorious, archaic luxury of a vintage locomotive. This experience is one for train lovers and explorers alike, and is flexible to fit in with your day’s plans.

In this classic engine, you will see the fields and hills of the east Midlands in a new light. Relax as the world rushes by, before you hop off to explore the next destination and take in the local history and places of interest. You will enjoy unlimited travel for the day along the railway and the ticket gives you the ideal freedom to relax and explore at a leisurely pace, without having to rush or miss anything on offer.

The experience usually runs every weekend and on some weekdays between 10:30 and 16:00. Please note that while the experience is listed as a steam train ticket, the trains are actually Heritage diesels, not steam trains. You are free to get on and off at any of the stations should you choose and a buffet car is provided on some trains, but stations will sell light refreshments.
