The perfect experience for anyone who would to drive a diesel train through Ecclesbourne Valley

 

What does the activity include ?
Situated in Derbyshire's Gentle Valley, the Ecclesbourne Valley railway line runs from the northern outskirts of Derby to the gateway town of the Peak District, Wirksworth. When you arrive at your departure station an experienced driver will explain how to the diesel train is operated and tutor you on the controls. After lunch you and other participants on the day will take turns to drive the train through the stunning countryside route,

You will receive a group safety briefing on arrival from an experienced train driver, who will then go on to give a lesson on train driving and the train's controls. The group lesson is followed by lunch in the buffet car before you each take turns to take to the controls of the diesel train and drive along a section of the track. After your drive your instructor will explain how to do the final checks before putting the train away for the night.

What else do I need to know ?
Customers purchasing this experience will receive a voucher for one person valid for ten months. This activity operates every day of the week. Participants must be in good health and reasonably fit. Minimum age is 18 years. It is recommended that drivers wear stout footwear for this experience. Drivers must not consume any alcohol at all on the day of the experience. There will be a maximum of 4 participants in a group. All dates are subject to availability.
