Ice climbing developed out of mountain climbing. Ice climbers encountered the huge layers of frozen water in gullies as they worked their way up mountainsides. Now it’s a bonafide sport and London and Manchester host two of the UK’s most challenging ice walls. You will climb 8 metres of genuine indoor ice held at a constant temperature of -12°C indoors. This ice wall is a cool concave and presents a steep climbing challenge for all aspiring mountaineers!

You’ll be greeted by an instructor who will brief you on important safety matters and get you in proper clothing and kitting you out with axes, harnesses, crampons, helmets and eye protection. Then its off for your vertical ascent adventure with your qualified instructor guiding you both as you take turns to climb the ice wall using all the tools and techniques at your disposal.
