Ice Climbing for One - £49

Get to grips with one of the most challenging climbs possible on a -12°C indoor concave ice wall. You’ll use picks and axes to drag yourself up with an experienced climbing instructor to help motivate you!

 

What Your Experience Includes
The challenging sport of ice climbing first developed from mountaineers encountering these huge blocks and tunnels on their way up the side of some of the world’s tallest mountains! Now it’s a sport unto itself and London and Manchester play host to two of the most challenging indoor ice walls in the country. You’ll learn to pull your way up a challenging frozen ice wall with expert tuition. You will climb 8 metres of genuine indoor ice kept at a freezing temperature of -12°C. This indoor ice wall is a set in a concave and presents a tough climbing test for the aspiring mountaineer!

You’ll be welcomed by your instructor who will brief you on essential safety issues, get you in proper clothing and kit you out with the necessary harnesses, axes, crampons, eye protection and helmet. Then start your vertical ascent with your qualified instructor guiding you as you clamber up the ice wall using all the climbing tools and techniques you’ve learned. They’ll also provide the extra motivation to reach the top!

• Minimum age: 13 (under 18’s need written parental consent)
• There are no minimum or maximum height or weight restrictions.
• Participants should be in good general health and fitness, and should be able to support their own body weight. If participants have any concerns regarding their ability to take part in this experience, they should check before booking.
• The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to venue.
