This introduction to the world of sailing experience will teach you the essentials of how to steer a craft across the waves at a choice of beautiful locations around the UK. You will learn to harness the wind to take you gliding over the surf in an enjoyable and educational day of sea-faring adventure. A great gift!

Welcome aboard, sailor! This great experience will teach you the essentials of sailing as you take to the sea. Take control as you glide by some beautiful British locations, letting the wind do the work and soaking up the excitement as you learn a popular pastime.

During this sea-faring adventure, you will learn to steer the vessel; not just with the turning of the rudder, but by judging the waves and their strength and direction. Learn to follow the currents and the wind direction, harnessing one of the purest natural resources.

On the day you will learn the basics of sailing. The course is a half-day session, with qualified sailing instructors teaching you essential skills aboard a yacht or dinghy and ultimately developing your skill, stamina and confidence in this exciting gift of a day.

Upon arrival, you are issued with safety gear, clothing and buoyancy aids. You’re then given a safety briefing and an outline of the sailing course you will attempt. Then it’s off out onto the boat for a demonstration by the RYA instructor, before handing you the controls. Please allow approximately three hours for your visit.

  • Voucher valid for 9 months for one person.
  • Enjoy learning the basics of sailing from some of the most beautiful locations along the UK's shoreline.
  • Enjoy hands on training in either a yacht or dinghy.
  • An RYA instructor will be by your side throughout.
  • Your experience will last around 3 hours.

  • Voucher valid for 9 months.
  • Max weight - 18 stones, Min age - 12 years (under 18’s need parent/guardian consent).
  • Spectators are welcome but can only watch from the shore.
  • You must be in reasonable health and able to climb around the vessel.
  • The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to venue.

"An enjoyable education"

Sailing to me always looked such a relaxing way to spend a day having seen people out on boats and enjoying themselves but after this experience I’ll always know just how much there is to know about this sport. Far from sitting on deck sipping drinks the day was really action packed and thrilling from the start but I day I will always remember and something I would do again.
