Experience an exhilarating RIB blast on the Solent. These amazing high speed water rides are sure to get your adrenaline racing.

Have you ever felt like you were flying while travelling on a boat? Well it is very much possible with this RIB-craft experience. Some might say that this is like rally driving on water. This obviously means that this experience is extreme and extremely fun.

The speed powerboat will take you for a 40-minute ride around the Solent. This is not a typical boat ride meant for you to enjoy the scenery. This is meant for you to get adrenaline rushes on every wave and turn. Extreme sensations on a boat are very unusual and you will get addicted to this wild sport.

Of course, you will have the time to admire the harbour and discover historic ships, like the HMS Victory or the HMS Warrior. However, be prepared to cling to your seat as soon as you exit the harbour. You will reach speeds of up to 50mph and the boat will not be floating any more, it will be jumping from wave to wave and flying on water.

You might need a small break from this sensation packed experience, so you will have the opportunity to relax a little with the discovery of the forts and the impressive sights of the bigger ships and ferries cruising so slowly next to you.

  • Before you set off you will be fitted into your life jacket and waterproof clothing and given a safety briefing.
  • You will then depart from Gunwharf Quays, taking in the ships and harbour as you cruise through.
  • After leaving the harbour the throttle will be opened as you head to the Solent for 40 minutes of adrenalin filled fun, reaching speeds of up to 50 mph!

Notes and Restrictions

  • Voucher valid for 10 months.
  • Available March - November on weekends and during school holidays. Min age - 12 years (under 18s must be accompanied by parent/guardian). Min height - 5ft, Max weight - 17 stone.
  • Any relevant medical conditions must be noted when booking.
  • Anyone with heart, neck or back problems and those who are pregnant or in a wheelchairs cannot take part.
  • Asthmatics must bring their inhalers.
  • If worried about seasickness then take tablets 2 hours before the ride.
  • Boats have the latest safety equipment and are fully insured.
  • This activity is weather dependant so please check the day before to ensure the activity is going ahead.
  • Group size will be a maximum of 10 people.
  • No one under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be allowed to take part.

"40 minute RIB blast"

This was one of the best things I have ever done.My son bought me this experience as a present. Booking was easy. We both boarded the RIB expecting a nice steady but fast ride out to the Solent. As soon as we left harbour, the driver opened up the throttles and it was extreme from then on. After out-accelerating some expensive looking boats, we proceeded to chase the Isle of White car ferries, bouncing off their wake and flying across their stern. We then proceded to play 'chicken' with the forts in the Solent-racing towards them and turning at last minute. Exhilerating to say the least and arms and legs ached from hanging on for a good one hour of high speed fun. We intend to go back as a family of six and do it again. Well worth money and much better value than car track days.
