This section is bursting with tons of things to do for a day or night out – or even both if you’re feeling energetic and creative. We’ll try our best to help you choose the perfect experience, but it’ll be tough seeing as everything is suitable for a special occasion.
My oh my, what a city!
It’s strange how us Brits, especially Londoners, walk past magnificent landmarks in and around London on a daily basis without so much of a glance. We even get mad and accuse tourists (silently, of course as we’re too polite to say it out loud) of getting in the way and making us late for work and to that all important meeting.
Stop right there.
It seems like you need to put yourself in tourist-mode for the day to fall back in love with places in and around the city. Our Hop, On Hop Off cruises or afternoon tea / dinner and theatre experiences will be perfect for you.
Take a moment and enjoy the stunning views of London while you cruise down the River Thames. Take in the Houses of Parliament, Tate Modern, St. Paul's Cathedral and other favourites with fresh ‘tourist’ eyes.
Or why not immerse yourself in culture with a trip the West End, with top shows on offer and top seats available for you to enjoy a memorable evening, a show is the perfect treat for a loved one.
You can even opt to take yourself back in time with a generous dollop of British history at the Tower of London or Windsor Castle (just outside of London), to name just a few. Also, why not take time to indulge in the best things we’re famed for – scones and tea. Lovely jubbly!
A dose of adrenaline
If sightseeing and tea parties aren’t really your thing, then you may find this section a bit more up your street.
Have you heard of places where spirits supposedly ‘come to life’ as the sun gives way to the moon, chains dragging on the floor and objects flying mysteriously around in thin air? If visiting eerie and spooky places is your idea of fun, then night time ghost hunting is available in various UK venues for the bravest of us all.
It might be best to bring along a few friends for moral support, but rest assured you’ll be in the company of other courageous participants, a medium and a team of paranormal investigators. Prepare to jump out of your skin throughout the night as this activity lasts for around nine hours.
If ghost hunting is taking it a step too far, you may want to look into spending a day at the races. You’ll feel the buzz among the crowd as you cheer on your favourite horse and hopefully win some cash along the way. This is certainly a different kind of adrenaline rush compared to chasing ghosts!
Romance is in the air
For those hopeless romantics out there, a ghost hunting experience might not be your cup of tea, but how does dinner and a cruise along the Thames at night sound? You will be spoilt with a four-course meal and wine, while entertainment is available on board.
This is perfect as a birthday or anniversary celebration gift. Even if you’re not the romantic type, your parents or siblings and their other half may appreciate your kind and generous gesture.

Experiences for individuals generally range from £20 to £60. With special deals also available, make sure you rope in some friends to go with you before you hit the ‘book now’ button.
The offers start from £30 and usually peak just under £150; it means you can have a fantastic day or night out with friends and family members, while saving money at the same time. The locations you can select for your experience will vary according to each day and night package. Generally, the experiences take place UK-wide including in locations such as: Ffos Las in Wales, Glasgow and Edinburgh in Scotland, Birmingham, London, Nottingham, and Portsmouth.
Restrictions
These vary according to each activity and experience, but here is a list of some restrictions to keep an eye out for:
- Some experiences run on selected days, so double-check in advance before booking.
- Experiences like Comedy Nights get booked up quite quickly, so book well in advance.
- Some activities may be unsuitable for pregnant women.
- Some venues may have limited disabled facilities – check before you book a particular location.
