Polo is a fast and competitive sport which is a lot of fun to learn. This lesson will help you to understand all of the required basic moves and will see you putting them into practice whilst controlling your polo pony at the same time. A tricky but very rewarding experience!

If you have ever fancied trying your hand at the sport of polo you now can with this rewarding experience. You will spend a morning receiving a polo lesson that will take you through the basics of the elegant sport and help you to understand the rules.

Watch a demonstration on a board and then move onto the four basic shots that are used in the game, and then the polo swing. Then you will get to climb onto a polo pony and try out your skills. Finally, you can combine the two and try out hitting the ball with a mallet while riding the horse.

All the equipment that is needed to take part is provided on the experience, and when you have finished your lesson, you may just get the taste to continue with the exhilarating sport.

  • Learn the basics principles of polo by watching a demonstration with miniatures.
  • Using an elevated platform you will be taught the 4 basic game shots and how to swing your mallet.
  • On your horse you will then practice riding and hitting the ball with the stick and enjoy attempting all that you have learnt.
  • The course runs from 9:00am until 11:00am.

Notes and Restrictions

  • Voucher valid for 10 months.
  • Available every Saturday morning through winter and every Saturday and Sunday morning through spring and summer.
  • Min age - 12 years, Max weight - 20 stone
  • All equipment is provided but if you have any riding gear then please bring it along.
  • Please bring waterproofs as lessons can be held in most weathers.
  • Please wear riding boots or shoes with a small heel (no trainers).
  • Instructors are all Hurlingham Polo Association accredited.
  • Extra lessons can be booked directly with the supplier.
