Buyer’s Guide to Lamborghini Driving Experiences

The name Lamborghini usually speaks for itself, so all you need to do is choose which experience to buy, for which our buyer’s guide can make itself useful.

The car

Lamborghini have formed a habit of naming cars after fighting bulls, and they live up to their namesakes. The Gallardo was an historic breed of fighting bull and Murcielago was a single bull so brave he impressed the crowd enough to earn a thumbs up and live out his days with the heifers.

You don’t need to play spot the difference with these 2 cars, just remember one is a bull and the other is a bigger bull.

Power is measured at 500.1bhp. Torque 376.2 ft lbs, top speed of 192mph and a 5.0 litre V10 engine.

Power rivals Thor at 640.1bhp. Torque 486.8 ft lbs, top speed of 211mph and a 6.5 litre V12 engine.

Most venues run the Lamborghini Gallardo, which is the entry level car for this prestigious Italian car maker. The upgrade, the Murcielago, is also available at selected locations.

The day

  • Introductory Briefing:
Everything you need before taking the wheel: a run through of what you’ll get up to during the day, safety tips and an insight into driving theory.
  • Demonstration Laps:
An expert instructor will take you for an exciting blast round the track. They are also tasked with demonstrating how they drive ... in an animated style.
  • Your Turn:
The moment you’ve been waiting for; into the Lambo and away.

The location

As the Lamborghini is one of our most popular supercars it is available at most venues. Many of our packages can be used at a range of locations so these are an easy choice if you're not sure where to go, or where the person you are buying for would prefer.

Chobham in Surrey, is a very popular choice for people in the South East as it is fairly close to London. It is situated in an airfield, 2 miles of long straights and tight bends.

Kenilworth in Warwickshire is a multi-surface, 1.8 mile track designed for high speed and features corners to really test the ability of the driver.

Elvington in Yorkshire, again situated on an airfield. The track is 1.5 miles long and has plenty of run-off area, ideal for beginners and pros.

Prestwold Hall in Loughborough, Leicestershire, is a 1.8 mile long, purpose built track with plenty of high speed corners as well as some fast straights to really put your foot down.

Rockingham in Corby, Northamptonshire, is very well equipped with three different tracks, the Oval Circuit (1.5 miles), the National Circuit (1.7 miles) and the International Circuit (2.5 miles). Most commonly used for our experience driving days is the Oval Circuit as it really gives you the chance to pick up some high speed.

Other popular locations for the Lamborghini experience include; Three Sisters, Lancashire; Donnington, Derbyshire; Great Tew, Oxfordshire; Goodwood, West Sussex and more!

The value

All of our experiences cover about 6 miles, with a certificate thrown in as proof you tamed the Italian supercar. A good all round package would be the Lamborghini Driving Thrill experience for £99, which keeps the cost down without compromising on choice as there are 12 locations available with this one.

More prestigious racetracks don’t have to cost the earth, but they are usually a bit more. Trust us it’s worth it to drive the car of your dreams on a track that is equally impressive. One example is the Lamborghini Blast at Goodwood for £149.

If you want to drive more than one car, consider a multi-car experience as it is better value for money than buying single experiences back to back. This comes in the form of the Ultimate Triple Lamborghini Driving Thrill for £295.

These restrictions are designed with your safety and comfort in mind, and may vary between venues so check the Key Info tab when viewing an experience.

For most Lamborghini experiences the minimum height is 5'2", maximum height is 6'4" and maximum weight is 18 stone.

With regard to driving licence requirements, at Three Sisters, Donington and Rockingham the minimum age is 18 and a full driving licence (held for a minimum of 12 months) is required. At most other venues you must be 17 years or over and, yes, still have a full driving license.

Overseas driving license? Although most experiences specify that a UK driver's licence is required, provided the person doing the experience can actually drive, has a full manual driving licence that allows them to drive on UK roads and has held it for a minimum of 12 months with no convictions then it is generally not an issue.

Junior driver? Lamborghini driving is available for children aged between 12 and 16 and is available at selected locations, most dates fall during the school holidays (plan 6-8 weeks in advance as school holidays are always a busy time!).
