We have all seen people flying helicopters on the television and in the movies and wondered what it would actually be like to take control of one of these amazing machines. Well, it is now possible to actually make these dreams become a reality with the help of experience days.
This 30 minute helicopter flying lesson gives you the unique opportunity to take to the skies in an Robinson 22 dual control training helicopter and fly over some of the most stunning locations in the United Kingdom. Depending on your choice of area, these could include the Chiltern Hills, the breath-taking Northumberland Coast and Castles, or along the simply stunning south coast. Whatever area it is that you choose, the flight will be an adrenaline filled experience that you will never forget.
During your flight you'll have the opportunity to take the controls and experience flying a helicopter at altitude and at low levels. Your professional instructor will also show you what the helicopter can really do with a low level demonstration flight, as low 30 feet from the airfield. It is the perfect way to end an amazing experience. A full safety briefing is also provided at the beginning of the day to ensure your safety throughout.

"Unforgettable experience" I am rather smug with myself for getting my boyfriend this as a present. I searched the website long and hard as there were so many great options to choose from but I thought flying a helicopter was that bit more special. My boyfriend certainly agreed. He had a fabulous day at Chester. He said it was unbelievable to fly the helicopter and enjoyed the pilot taking him 'for a spin' after his lesson. We made a night of it and booked into a nearby hotel. It was a perfect day and I couldn't have asked for anything better.

Can you please tell me whether this experience counts towards a helicopter pilot's licence? Also, out of the 30 minutes, how long do I actually get to control the aircraft?
This can count towards your pilots licence you simply need to inform the instructor and he will log the time for you.The time you are in control will depend on how the instructor feels you are doing but it could be the majority of the 30 minutes. The pilot notes will give you a basic insight into the techniques needed for handling the aircraft.
