Are you tired of hearing that helicopters are unbelievably difficult to fly? Want to put yourself up for the challenge? This away day trial lesson is perfect for aspiring pilots who are keen to learn and succeed.
In this two-hour flying lesson, you will experience the thrill of piloting a real helicopter. This amazingly technical piece of engineering will carry you and a qualified instructor into the skies above. Unlike a plane, you will be more mobile, agile and able to ascend or drop rapidly. The feeling from the cockpit is different too; it is a lot more open, allowing a heightened sense of awareness as you grace the skies.
The day’s package includes an in-depth pre-flight briefing, during which you will be taught both safety requirements and also flight controls, including take-offs and landings, panel use, and flight theory, i.e. basic flight physics. This might seem a heavy introduction, but it’s vital ahead of the two or three subsequent flights.
The session’s hours will count towards your own pilot’s licence, which like a plane pilot licence requires 45 hours of logged flight under instruction, so the experience is ideal for anyone who is serious about obtaining their Private Pilot’s Licence.
