What Your Experience Includes
This is a once-in a lifetime experience where you will feel the calm and tranquillity of steering a glider through the open skies. You’ll soar and circle through the open skies, using thermal updrafts to aid you. After a plane and safety briefing from a British Gliding Association instructor, you take to the air. You’ll have control of the plane once airborne, and you’re sure to gain in flying skill and confidence. This first gliding lesson can count towards a Glider Pilot certificate, if you want to take it further.

You are welcomed on site and asked to complete a membership application form (under 18’s require consent from parent on this form). Please also remember to take your voucher on the day. After this comes a pre-flight briefing from your gliding instructor. Most gliding clubs are owned and run by their own members. While you wait to glide you may be asked to help with various gliding club tasks: keeping the log, preparing gliders for launch etc. Gliding is a very sociable sport and a real team effort. Then it’s your turn to fly, so take to the skies for an experience to remember!

Restrictions

• Participants should be in reasonable health and be agile enough to climb into the aircraft.
• Minimum Age is 12 (under 18’s need consent from parent or guardian).
• Maximum Weight is 16 stone (102kgs).
• Maximum Height is 6'4” (193cms).
• The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to venue.
