Learn about wine tasting, how to choose a good wine in a restaurant and how to store and serve good wine, as well as drink it!

Are you are often a bit lost staring at a wine list in a restaurant? Do you feel confused when entertaining at home and trying to match the most appropriate wine to the food you have prepared? If so then this entry-level course in London's High Holborn is just the right thing for you.

Who ever said that learning can't be fun? This relaxed and entertaining half-day introduction to wine is designed to be both educational and a great sociable experience! Normally running on Saturdays, your day will begin with a welcome and an introduction to the rest of your budding sommelier group. You will then sit down for a theory class where you will learn more about wine production and the different styles of wine.

Once the basics are covered, you will move on to the fun bit of tasting 14 individual, high quality wines, discussing each and re-tasting them with small bites of selected food. That is when you will truly begin to understand the science behind the creation of wines. You will never think of wines in the same way again! Just imagine how confident you will be next time you have to choose a bottle. Enjoy!

  • Your afternoon will be spent sampling wines and matching them with food.

  • Lunch is not included but can be purchased from the hotel.
