  • The tour will take you around a selection of vines, don't hesitate to ask your guide any questions.
  • Next stop will be a tour of the winery and demonstration of the wine making process.
  • Enjoy sampling some of the vineyard's own wines during a tasting session.
  • Settle down to a tasty lunch with the rest of your group (cream tea at Devon).
  • Don't forget to collect your complimentary bottle of wine!

What happens on the day?

Set out on a journey from vine to wine as you explore a working vineyard and discover the secrets of the winery. English wines are making a name for themselves and this is your opportunity to delve behind the scenes of the entire process, before sampling the results for yourself.

You’ll be taken around the vineyard on a tour to discover how they train, grow and harvest their vines, and then it’s into the winery to see the process of transforming the humble grape into a delightful vintage. Follow this with a delicious lunch and even take home a complimentary bottle as a souvenir of your experience.

Fantastic presentReview by Rob, Leeds
Chilford Hall in Cambridgeshire was the ideal setting for a wine tasting day, as it is not too far from where we live. We were in a small tour group of about 10 so we were able to take our time walking around, viewing various aspects of the wine making process. A very informative and eminently delicious day out ;)

Brilliant gift and day outReview by Lora, staffordshire
Wroxeter winery was a great day out, with amiable staff and some very delicious wines. I was sure to stock up on a couple of bottles from the gift shop, and was pleasantly surprised that they weren't extortionately priced! (An unfortunate trait I have often found on other wine tasting days...)

Best Gift Ever.Review by Disney, Kent
I chose the Vineyard Tour and Lunch experience as a joint birthday present for my mum and sister, both of whom are keen wine connoisseurs. I am not as knowledgable about wines as them so the day gave me a great insight into different wines and the actual wine making process. A lovely day at a beautiful location, and both my mum and sister were very pleased. Thank you!

Great Day Out Despite the Weather!Review by Jodie G, Bristol
Old Walls Vineyard was a great location for a countryside day out. The weather was lovely so we were about to visit both the indoors vineyard as well as the vines themselves. The gift shop had some unique wines which we were keen to buy, and we shall be returning soon to stock up on supplies! :P

Old Walls Vineyard - DevonReview by Gac141, Berkshire
A great 50th birthday present. As well as wine tasting, we were able to enjoy tea and coffee in the beautiful Devonshire countryside, as well as learning a great deal about the wine making process. An educational yet thoroughly entertaining day.

Great AfternoonReview by Vikki S, Ely, Cambridgeshire
I highly recommend the Wroxter Roman Vineyard in Shropshire. Our guide was very well-informed and capable of answering all of our questions about the wine making process and the history of the vineyard and the surrounding land, which was very interesting. The sample wines were delicious, although we were in a large group so it would have been nicer to have more time to look around certain aspects. However, overall it was a great day which we would visit again.

Excellent DayReview by Cheshire Lady, .
The decadent vine yard at Old Walls, Bishopsteignton, Devon more than made up for the truly appalling weather! We were greeted with coffee in their tea room which suitably warmed us up before the tour began. Although there were around 30 of us, it did not feel crowded at all, and the guide made saw everyone was able to view all aspects of the vineyard before moving along.Thankfully they were prepared for the rain and the whole event took place indoors. Lunch was lovely, accompanied by some delicious wines which they produced themselves. A very pleasant day, thank you.

Vineyard Tour MidlandsReview by Bryan Illsley, Stockport
A most enjoyable day out. The chap who took us round was a very good speaker and kept us amused with his stories and anecdotes. The lunch was most enjoyable and there was plenty of wine to sample and also with the lunch. All in all a great day out.

Vinyard tour and lunch.Review by Barry Lake, Cople, Bedford
We had a wounderful day at the vineyard although we had left it till very late in the season to go. The tour was very informative the lovely lady who took us round was so very well informed and told us a lot of very interesting facts about wine making in this country. The wine tasting could have got even more "interesting" had we been able to swallow all that was on offer, but as we were driving we had to limit the amount we digested. But purchased several bottles to enjoy later. Lunch was a very pleasing homemade lasagne with an Eaton Mess to follow. Would not hesitate to recommend this trip.

Good tour and lunchReview by Colleen Wright, Eye
We had a great day at the vineyard as we are both wine lovers. The lunch was very tasty and even had a vegetarian option offered. The wine tasting gave us a good idea of different wines to sample . The tour leader was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had with ease. We came away with a nice bottle of wine , a small memento of the day.

Super day out and lovely lunchReview by Jennifer Howells, Stafford, England
I had a super time on this tour. I found the leader particularly helpful answering my queries and he provided us with a great deal of information about how wine is produced in this part of the world. I'm a keen lover of fine wines and seeing how we produce our own in the UK was a real treat. The tasting was superb, to finally get to sample the rich tastes and flavours from a variety of wines was a highlight of the day. Lunch was equally delicious too and rounded off the day really nicely. Our group was small so we got plenty of time to ask the tour guide questions. All in all a really enjoyable day!

If you love wine, this is a mustReview by Albert Hawkins, Barnstaple, Devon
As a keen amateur wine-maker, I was delighted to receive this gift from my son. My wife and I went to the Bishopsteignton vineyard hoping it would be an educational experience and we were not disappointed. It was really interesting to see how wine is made here in the UK and of such a high quality too. We learned so much and the tasting was a particular highlight of the day. The guide was fabulous, answering all my questions and the cream tea to follow rounded off what was a thoroughloy enjoyable day. We enjoyed it so much we are thinking of visiting another vineyard soon!
