Learn to pilot a helicopter and a fixed wing plane in one awesome combined beginner's flying lesson.

 

What does the activity include ?
Experience the agility of a light aircraft plus the thrill of helicopter flight in one day, with you as the pilot if you choose! Your qualified instructor will teach you the skills needed to fly both forms of air travel, and give you the opportunity to take the controls for yourself; although you can also just sit back and enjoy the flights as your co pilot shows you how its done!

Following arrival at the helicopter centre your trial flying lesson begins with a ground briefing session and introduction to the panels and effects of the controls. Then your instructor will handle the vertical take-off in a helicopter, and once airborne you will learn forward flight, how to hover and the unique manoeuvrability of the helicopter. Then you take the controls for some first-hand piloting of your own. After landing you then go on to a briefing for the Cessna 152 aeroplane which you will also command in the air for a further 30 minutes. This is the perfect gift for those with an adventurous attitude!

What else do I need to know ?
On buying this experience you receive a voucher for one person valid for ten months. Briefings given on the ground will last around 30 to 40 minutes and participants can expect to spend approximately 2.5 hours at the venue. All air-borne time counts towards a pilot's licence should you wish to continue training as a pilot. Participants will be presented with a commemorative certificate at the end of the experience as a memento. Maximum weight for participants is 17 stone. Although there are no age restrictions the minimum height to take part is 5ft.
