Take off high above the clouds with this 30 minute flying lesson in a Cessna 152 or Cessna 140 at Eggington near Derby.

 

What does the activity include ?
See the landscape from up high while you fly above the beautiful Derby countryside. This award-winning school is one of the largest in the country and its friendly staff are enthusiastic to help you with your first flying lesson. Take steering control of a Cessna 152 or Cessna 140 light aircraft once airborne as you learn to control and manoeuvre with your instructor on hand to assist. This unique flying experience is something you will remember for years to follow!

On arrival you will receive a short briefing from a well-qualified flying instructor who will then complete pre-flight checks and taxi the plane to the runway. Following take-off you will be given steering control and learn basic air manoeuvres and how to control the plane in the sky during your 30 minute in the air! The aircraft has dual steering control so the instructor can assist whenever needed. Afterwards you can buy a log book so your flight time can be counted towards a Private Pilot Course. It’s a great idea to bring a camera as you will also have plenty of photo opportunities.

What else do I need to know ?
On buying this experience you receive a voucher for one person valid for ten months. On receipt of the voucher you are free to call the air centre and book your flying lesson. When you book you must inform the centre if you are taller than 6ft 4” or over 16st as an additional charge may be necessary if a bigger plane is needed. 14 years old is the minimum age for the lesson. If the participant is under 18 a parent or guardian needs to accompany them. Family and friends are welcome to come and watch you from the ground. The lessons are subject to availability and weather conditions on the day. You are advised to phone in the morning to check if it is safe to fly on the day. Participants will be flying a two-seater Cessna 152 or Cessna 140.
