Junior Falconer Experience

Give your child a chance to become a falconer for the day, from weighing and feeding to handling and flying! A great educational and fun day out!

Gain a fascinating insight into the varied workload of a falconer. Over the three hours of this session you'll gain a great understanding into both the theory and practical side of looking after various types of birds. Nothing is spared as you get hands on in every aspect of the job, including attempting to put on your own flying display.

Anyone aged between 12 and 15 with an interest in birds is bound to enjoy this day with a difference. From the fairly routine task of weighing and feeding birds, your confidence and awareness of the job will develop as you become more comfortable and aware. Striking a balance between the fun and educational side, you'll develop a great practical awareness of what goes on behind the scenes within the daily routine of falconry.

You'll get the chance to handle and train some young birds before moving on to try swinging a lure, track a radio transmitter and go on to present your own flying display. With all aspects of bird handling covered, from the routine and predictable to the challenging and demanding, your session in the falconry will provide a great insight into this rewarding job.
