Birds of Prey Experience Essex

Handle and fly Birds of Prey during this interactive falconry experience in Essex. An amazing experience for any animal lover!

Birds are majestic and beautiful creatures, but there are none more impressive than the various birds of prey. This fantastic half-day experience will give you the chance to learn a little bit about these amazing birds and even get up close and personal with them, as you are taught how to fly them from your clasped fist.

Once you arrive at this delightful Essex location you will be greeted by your falconry expert for the day. They will guide you through the various different ways that falconry techniques have changed and improved over the centuries. Then you will get the chance to meet these amazing birds up close and learn how to handle them safely before you are shown how to fly them. The birds are not trained to perform tricks; they have only been taught and trained to do exactly what comes naturally to them. You will see them soar, pounce, quarter and mantle, just like they would in the wild.

For any avid bird lover, this is truly a day that you will relish from start to finish. The experts will be on hand all day to help you and answer any questions that you may have about the birds or their natural habitats.

  • Your session will start off with a tour of the centre and talk on the birds housed there.
  • You will then spend time with the birds and will learn about handling them and have them fly to your fist.

"Fantastic day out"

Loved every minute. Nothing to fear, birds were great even the largest ones. Worked our way up from smaller birds, finishing up with eagles. Would do it all again. We weren't rushed at all and had plenty of time flying each bird - approximately 10 - 12 birds in all.

"Birds of Prey Experience"

A really great day out, lovely small group, therefore we all got a go feeding the birds on the wing. A large variety of birds were used, eagles and various types of owls. The weather was not the best but it didn't spoil the event. The handler was very thoughtful, in the depth to which he explained the various birds, which made it all the more interesting.
