Take care of some special and rare animals in this zookeeper experience in Kent. You’ll assist in feeding bears, leopards, flamingos and even alligators! Muck out the cages and make some new friends in this fantastic day as a keeper at this great zoo!

 

What Your Experience Includes
Being a Keeper for a Day is a great experience where you’ll get close to some incredibly rare and beautiful animals. You’ll learn different species feeding habits and all sorts of other information first hand. The animals you might be looking after at the zoo include Clouded Leopards, Snow Leopards, Jaguarundi, Brazilian Ocelots, Lemurs, Alligators, Malayan Tapirs, Sun Bears, Cuban Flamingos as well as many other fascinating creatures!

You begin at 9am with a zoo and safety briefing. In the morning you will assist with the animal feeds, then you’ll rest and have your own lunch. In the afternoon you will take part in other activities which include helping muck out the creature’s cages and perhaps getting personal with an animal or two! You will be the only assistant zookeeper on the day so it’s a unique chance to get close to some very rare and endangered species of animals.

Restrictions

• Minimum age: 14
• There are no weight or height restrictions
• Fitness and Health: Participants should be in reasonable health as some walking around the zoo will be required.
• The centre offers full disabled access.
• Spectators are welcome to visit the zoo for a small entry fee but cannot go behind the scenes. Couples may participate together however both must hold a valid voucher. Please check when making your booking.
• Lunch is not included but catering facilities are available on-site at an extra cost.
• The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to venue.
