This is the only place in the UK you can dive with sharks, stingrays and other tropical fish. Diving tuition from qualified instructors is included. It’s an amazing underwater experience.

Made infamous by ‘Jaws’, Sharks are incredible fish that are often misunderstood and dramatically over feared. This is the only place in the UK where you can dive with sharks, making this a truly unique and memorable experience.

In this Shark Diving Experience at the Blue Planet Aquarium, you’ll get to dive into the simulated tropical waters for this remarkable shark encounter, seeing such creatures as the Sand Tiger Shark, Lemon Shark and Southern Stingrays. In this session anyone can take part, even the most novice of divers. You’ll be taught basic dive techniques, as well as how to use the breathing apparatus, how to clear your mask and perform hand signals.

On the day you will be greeted upon arrival and attend your introduction and safety briefing. You’ll be fitted with your Scuba equipment and dry suit before you take part in the water instruction in the training pool. After your experience, there will be time to shower and change, before collecting your certificate of attendance. Please allow approximately three to three and a half hours for the whole experience, while the dive itself lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes. PA cover to the value of £50,000 plus cancellation indemnity is included.

• To kick start your experience you will be given a safety briefing.
• You will be kitted out in a dry suit and scuba gear and then shown how to use it.
• You will then be given a demo on basic diving techniques.
• During your time under the water you will meet a variety of sharks and fish including the Lemon Shark, Sand Tiger Shark and over 1500 various other fish.
• To complete your experience you will be given a certificate to remember the day.
• Please allow around 3.5 hours for the whole experience
• Your dive will last roughly 30 - 45 mins.

North West: Merseyside (Wirral)

• Voucher valid for 9 months.
• Min age - 16 years (under 18's need parental/guardian consent).
• Min height - 5'0", Max height - 6' 4", Max weight - 18 stone.
• You will not be able to take part if you are pregnant.
• You must be water confident and of reasonable fitness.
• You must not fly up to 8 hours after your dive.
• Contact lenses are ok to wear but not glasses.
• A PADI medical form must be completed before diving, a GPs letter will be needed if you answer YES to anything on the form.
• A doctors letter is also required if you have any of the following: Ear disease; hearing loss or problems with balance; ear infection; history of ear or sinus surgery; suffering from a cold, congestion, sinusitis or bronchitis; history of respiratory problems, severe attack of hay fever or allergies or lung disease; history of chest surgery or a collapsed lung (pneumothorax); history of emphysema; tuberculosis or active asthma; currently taking medication carrying a warning about any impairment of physical or mental disabilities; behavioural health, mental or psychological problems, or a nervous system disorder; history of colostomy; history of heart disease or heart attack; heart surgery or blood vessel surgery; history of high blood pressure; angina or taking medication to control blood pressure; 45 years old plus who have a family history of heart attack or stroke; history of bleeding or other blood disorders; history of diabetes; history of seizures; blackouts or fainting; convulsions or epilepsy or taking medications to prevent them; history of back, arm or leg problems following an injury, fracture or surgery; history of fear of closed or open spaces or panic attack (claustrophobia or agoraphobia).
• A ‘Declaration of Fitness’ must also be signed on the day.
• Disabled facilities are available for spectators.
