Sheepdog Training Day - £99

This day with fantastic border collies will teach you first hand about a partnership between one man and his dog that has existed for centuries. You will discover the techniques of sheep herding with the collies out in the beautiful countryside of West Yorkshire. It’ll be a day you’ll never forget!

• Professional tuition from shepherdess Barbara Sykes who has taken part in the International Sheep Dog Trials.
• The experience will last around 5 hours.
• Arrive at 10:30am.
• Two sessions of 2 hours with the dogs and sheep with a 1 hour break for lunch.

Dogs are a man’s best friend, and with this Sheepdog Training Day Experience you’ll learn first-hand about that partnership and bond. With a trained border collie at your side, you’ll feel like a pro as you learn the calls and whistles that dictate the dog’s movement, as you become shepherd for a day.

Out in the vast and beautiful countryside of West Yorkshire, you will receive expert tuition from Barbara Sykes. Barbara is a shepherdess, farmer and dog trainer who has represented her country at the International Sheepdog Trials. Her skill and expertise are exactly what is needed to train even the most novice of dog handler, and in no time you will be wise to how the sheep react and how to get the most out of your dog.

On the day you will arrive at 10:30 and you are advised to allow up to five hours for your experience. This is dependent on the number of people taking part (more people, more turns, longer session), but you will spend maximum of two hours before and two hours after lunch working the dogs, with a one-hour lunch break. You will also receive an experience gift pack, including personalised voucher, and are provided with PA cover to the value of £50,000 as well as cancellation indemnity.

North East: West Yorkshire (Bingley)

• Experience available Monday to Friday.
• No minimum or maximum weight or height restrictions.
• Minimum age is 16 years. Those under 18 will need parental or guardian consent.
• Meals are not included but there is a public house close by.
• Participants should be in reasonable health and fitness.
• The experience content and equipment may vary from time to time.
• It is likely that other participant will be taking part in this experience with you.
• Cancellation indemnity and £50,000 PA cover included.
